Back in 1997, Eiichiro Oda opened One Piece in Weekly Shonen Jump with a small detail that still stings. In chapter one, a sniper named Yasopp brags to a young Luffy about the son he left behind. Nearly three decades later, the story still withholds their reunion. Because of this, collectors build it themselves. A single Yasopp figure placed beside the right Usopp does what the manga refuses to do. In fact, the best version of this display comes from two different lines, and the mismatch is the point.

The best Yasopp figure for a father-and-son display is The Shukko Yasopp from Banpresto, at roughly 16 cm, paired with the roughly 14 cm Usopp DXF The Grandline Men from Film Red. The two-centimetre gap lets the father stand slightly taller without any custom work. Additionally, a third option exists: the 2012 Film Z Styling Usopp adds an earlier-film variant for collectors who want a timeline.

The Reunion the Manga Keeps Postponing

What the Story Actually Gives Us

First, the facts. Yasopp left Syrup Village to sail with Shanks while Usopp was still a small child. Usopp’s mother, Banchina, later died of illness, and the boy kept shouting that pirates were coming. He hoped one of those ships carried his father. However, Usopp never turned bitter. Instead, he chose the same life and swore to become a brave warrior of the sea.

Meanwhile, Yasopp never stopped talking about him. Luffy confirms it during the Syrup Village arc, and that conversation recruits Usopp better than any speech. Still, Oda has kept the two apart ever since. As a result, the pairing carries more tension than almost any other family tie in the series.

Why Film Red Raised the Stakes

Toei Animation released One Piece Film Red in Japanese cinemas in August 2022. For the first time, father and son fought together, linked through Observation Haki across two separate worlds. Even so, the film never put them in the same room. In short, Film Red gave collectors the emotional beat and left the physical meeting to our shelves. Therefore, Film Red merchandise matters more than any other release for this specific display.

Which Yasopp Figure Should Anchor the Scene?

Yasopp in The Shukko Line

Banpresto built The Shukko around one idea: departure. “Shukko” translates roughly as setting sail, and the line catches characters at the moment they leave port. For Yasopp, that theme lands hard. After all, his departure is the whole wound. Consequently, the Yasopp The Shukko Figure carries narrative weight that a generic battle pose never could.
