1. Who this applies to

This policy applies to consumers in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Norway who buy on rareinventory.com. Purchases made by businesses or resellers (orders with a company name or VAT number) are final: the right of withdrawal does not apply to them.

2. 14 days to change your mind

You may withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of the day you (or someone on your behalf) received the item, without giving a reason. To do so, email team@rareinventory.com with your order number before the 14 days end. You then have another 14 days to send the item back.

3. Condition of the item

Every item leaves our warehouse photographed with its order number and with a numbered Rare Inventory tamper-evident seal. To be refunded in full, the item must come back:

  • with the Rare Inventory seal intact and the same seal number as the one shipped;

  • with the manufacturer’s factory seal, shrink-wrap or blister unopened, where the item was sold as sealed;

  • complete, with its original box, inserts and any accessories, and without new damage.

    You may inspect the item as you would in a shop (look at the box, check the exterior). Opening a factory seal, removing a figure from its blister or packaging, or handling the item beyond what is needed to check it reduces its value. In that case we deduct the loss of value from the refund. For a collectible sold as sealed, the difference between sealed and opened can be the full price. An item that comes back without the Rare Inventory seal, or with a different seal number, is not the item we sold and cannot be refunded.

    4. Items that cannot be returned

    By law, there is no right of withdrawal for items made to your specifications or personalised, and for sealed items that have been unsealed and cannot be returned for hygiene reasons. In addition, single loose trading card booster packs are not sold at a distance to consumers; they are only sold in sealed boxes and sets.

    5. Return shipping

    You pay the cost of sending the item back. Use a tracked and insured service and pack the item in a rigid outer box: an item that arrives damaged because of poor packing is refunded less the loss of value. We cover the return cost only when the item arrived damaged, is not the item you ordered, or does not match its description (see section 7).

    6. Refund

    Once the item is back and checked, we refund within 14 days to the payment method you used, including the standard delivery cost of the original order (not any faster delivery option you chose). We may hold the refund until we have received the item or you have shown proof of sending it. Any deduction for loss of value is explained in writing with photos.

    7. Damaged, wrong or non-conforming items

    This is separate from the right of withdrawal. If your parcel arrives damaged, open it on video or take photos before and after opening and write to us within 3 days with the pictures. If the item is not the one you ordered, is not as described or has a hidden defect, the EU legal guarantee of conformity applies: we replace it, or refund it in full, and we pay the return shipping. Collectibles are sold as they are described in the listing (grade, edition, box condition); minor shelf wear on an outer box that is mentioned in the listing is not a defect.

    8. Orders not yet shipped

    You can cancel an order free of charge at any time before it ships by email; the refund is immediate.

    9. Model withdrawal form

    You may use this text: “To Rare Inventory, team@rareinventory.com: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract of sale of the following goods: [item], ordered on [date], received on [date]. Name, address, date, signature (if on paper).”
