Back in 2023, Banpresto began flooding the One Piece prize figure market with Egghead arc releases. The arc itself, set on the futuristic laboratory island of Dr. Vegapunk, gave sculptors a fresh Zoro outfit to work with. As a result, Banpresto seized the opportunity twice, releasing a Zoro Egghead figure under two completely separate product lines, months apart. Today, both versions sit at the same €35 price point at Rare Inventory, and new collectors searching for a zoro egghead figure routinely add both to the same cart by mistake. This guide exists to stop that from happening.

The Senkouzekkei and Battle Record Collection are distinct Banpresto product lines that produce genuinely different sculpts of the same character, same outfit, and same arc. Buying both is a deliberate collector’s choice, not a bundle. If you only want one, the differences in pose, sword count, base design, and line philosophy make the decision straightforward once you understand what each line actually delivers.

What Is the Senkouzekkei Line? A Zoro Egghead Figure Collector’s Primer

First, let’s decode the name. “Senkouzekkei” (閃光絶景) translates loosely from Japanese as “flash of brilliant scenery,” evoking a freeze-frame moment of peak action. In practice, Banpresto uses the Senkouzekkei line to capture characters at a single explosive instant: mid-lunge, mid-cut, coat trailing behind them. Think of it as the line that shoots for the iconic poster frame of a fight sequence.

Senkouzekkei figures from Banpresto are non-articulated prize collectibles made from PVC and ABS, standing approximately 15 cm (5.9 inches (15 cm)) tall. That compact height matters for display planning. Additionally, the line maintains a consistent scale across its roster, so collectors can line up Zoro alongside other Senkouzekkei characters for a unified shelf look.

The Senkouzekkei sculpt leans into clean lines, great motion, and the bold expression that makes Zoro such a compelling character to follow. Specifically, this figure depicts Zoro in a powerful mid-air pose, wielding two of his katana swords as he evades an attack on Egghead Island, with his iconic green top and black high boots faithfully recreated.

Prize Figure Origins: Why “Prize” Doesn’t Mean “Cheap”

New collectors often stumble on the word “prize.” In Japan, Banpresto produces most of its figures as arcade-crane-machine prizes, not retail-boxed collectibles. However, that origin says nothing about quality. Banpresto is a Japanese company celebrated for its intricately detailed collectible items across the anime genre and beyond. Moreover, the prize-figure model keeps prices democratic, which is exactly why both Egghead Zoro versions retail at €35 rather than €150. For new collectors, that is the single best entry point into serious One Piece figure collecting.

For context on how the Senkouzekkei line positions itself within Banpresto’s portfolio, the S-Hawk Senkouzekkei Figure from the same line demonstrates how Banpresto applies the same action-freeze philosophy to Egghead arc side characters, making it a smart companion piece on the shelf.

Battle Record Collection: The Second Zoro Egghead Figure Explained

Next, consider the Battle Record Collection. Where Senkouzekkei freezes a single split-second, Battle Record takes a broader storytelling approach. The line name itself signals intent: this is a record of battle, not just a snapshot of one. Banpresto positions Battle Record figures as commemorative pieces for a character’s defining confrontations within a specific arc. As a result, the sculptural choices skew toward gravitas over explosive kinetics.

The Battle Record Zoro Egghead figure stands slightly taller and opts for a grounded, commanding stance rather than an airborne one. Most importantly, collectors will notice the sword configuration differs. Zoro’s three swords, iconic green haramaki sash, and fierce expression appear in the Egghead versions, though each line interprets which weapons Zoro draws and how. The Battle Record version presents Zoro gripping all three swords, Santoryu style, telegraphing the full weight of his Egghead showdown. The Senkouzekkei version, by contrast, focuses on a two-sword evasion moment.

Furthermore, the base design separates the two immediately. The Senkouzekkei base reads as minimal and stylised, keeping the eye on the figure. The Battle Record base incorporates arc-specific graphic elements, functioning almost as a nameplate for the moment it commemorates. For collectors who value context alongside the sculpt, Battle Record wins on storytelling. On the other hand, for collectors who prioritise shelf cohesion with other Senkouzekkei releases, the first version fits the system better.

The Banpresto One Piece Battle Record Collection Roster

The Battle Record line covers major arcs across the full One Piece timeline. Collectors searching for the banpresto one piece battle record collection boa hancock figure, for example, follow the same arc-commemoration logic. Each release pairs a character to a specific story moment, making the line naturally addictive to complete by arc. That is, of course, by design.

Pose, Sword Count, and Base: Zoro Egghead Figure Side-by-Side

Both figures share Zoro’s Egghead island outfit: the green coat, the haramaki, the same arc-accurate colour palette. Fans love the Egghead Zoro design because it shows him adapting to a wildly futuristic island without losing a shred of his stoic swagger. That shared design is precisely why the two figures confuse new buyers. However, once you see the pose side-by-side, the differences are obvious and meaningful.

Secondary Market Dynamics

At €35 each, both figures trade close to retail on the secondary market. Neither carries a significant premium at this stage, which makes right now the ideal window to buy. In fact, Banpresto prize figures with strong character appeal, specifically Zoro, routinely creep upward six to twelve months after distribution ends. The Senkouzekkei line, in particular, has shown resilience on the secondary market because collectors completing series sets drive sustained demand. Therefore, buying at retail via an authorised source is the rational play here.

How to Avoid Accidental Duplicates When Buying a Zoro Egghead Figure

First, read the product title carefully. Banpresto lists the line name in the title of every release: “Senkouzekkei” or “Battle Record Collection” always appears. Second, check the sword count in the product photo. Two swords visible means Senkouzekkei. Three swords means Battle Record. Third, examine the base. A plain oval base is Senkouzekkei. A graphic-printed base with arc text is Battle Record.

For new collectors purchasing from a trusted source, those three checks take fifteen seconds and eliminate all confusion. Additionally, reputable sellers list these figures with the line name and product code, making duplicate detection straightforward at checkout.

How to Spot Bootleg Anime Figures

Meanwhile, bootlegs of popular Banpresto Zoro figures circulate on the secondary market. Here is how to identify them. Official Banpresto products carry a Bandai Namco warning label on the product box, which confirms you are purchasing an officially licensed product distributed by its sole authorised distributor. Beyond the label, bootlegs typically show muddy paint application, soft sculpt detail around the face, incorrect sword proportions, and packaging that omits the Bandai Spirits branding. A legitimate zoro egghead figure from Banpresto will have crisp paint lines at the haramaki edges and clean katana blade edges. If the swords look slightly bent or the eye detail appears smudged, walk away.

Rare Inventory Recommends

Start with the Roronoa Zoro Egghead Ver. Senkouzekkei Figure if you are new to collecting. The compact scale, dynamic pose, and line cohesion make it the most versatile first purchase. Additionally, pair it with the Roronoa Zoro Egghead Ver. Battle Record Collection Figure only once you have decided to build across both lines. At €35 each, buying both intentionally is a perfectly reasonable call. Buying both by accident is not.

Zoro Egghead Figure Market Outlook: What Happens Next

Prediction 1: Senkouzekkei Zoro appreciates modestly within 12 months. Confidence: High

Banpresto stops production on prize figures once distribution cycles close. The Senkouzekkei Zoro Egghead release entered distribution in late 2025. As retailer stock depletes globally in 2026, secondary prices will nudge upward. Senkouzekkei’s growing name recognition among western collectors accelerates this trend. Furthermore, Banpresto’s continued expansion of the line, including releases like the S-Hawk Senkouzekkei Figure, validates the line’s commercial momentum. Collectors who buy Senkouzekkei Zoro at retail today lock in the best price they will see.
