A new collector reaches for the shelf at a friend’s place, spots a tall figure in a black coat with a golden hook, and immediately asks: “Which one is that, and where do I get it?” That is the Sir Crocodile effect. The “Desert King” has a silhouette so distinct, so loaded with menace, that every figure version of him starts a conversation before anyone reads a label. Right now, Banpresto offers two very different takes on this character at the prize figure price point: the compact Battle Record Collection and the taller DXF Grandline Series Extra. Both carry the crocodile one piece figure banpresto stamp of quality. The question is which one earns your €33-€35 first, and whether owning both is actually redundant.

The Battle Record Collection Crocodile and the DXF Grandline Series Extra Crocodile are not the same figure at different sizes. They capture completely different moments and moods, making both a legitimate shelf purchase. The Battle Record version locks Crocodile into a coiled, combat-ready tension at roughly 3.1 inches (8 cm), while the DXF Extra stretches him to approximately 5.7 to 6.7 inches (14–17 cm) in a commanding, coat-swirling stance. Together they tell a fuller story of the character than either could alone.

Two Crocodiles, One Shelf: Understanding the Banpresto Prize Figure Ecosystem

First, a quick primer for new collectors. “Prize figure” means Banpresto originally produced these for Japanese arcade crane machines, then distributed them globally through retail. That origin keeps prices low without sacrificing sculpt quality. Since merging with Bandai Spirits, Banpresto has grown to become a leading anime collectible brand beloved by fans and collectors worldwide. For a collector on a budget, prize figures represent the smartest entry point into the hobby.

Additionally, “non-articulated” means these figures do not move. No swappable arms, no repositionable hooks. What you see on the box is what you display. The Battle Record Collection Crocodile is a painted, non-articulated, non-scale figure. The DXF line follows the same philosophy. Both figures arrive pre-painted, ready to stand straight out of the box.

What “Non-Scale” Actually Means for New Buyers

Non-scale simply means Banpresto sculpted the figure at whatever size looked best for the pose and the line, rather than matching a fixed ratio to the character’s fictional height. Because of this, the 3.1-inch (8 cm) Battle Record and the ~6-inch (15 cm) DXF do not represent Crocodile at two “different sizes in canon.” They represent two different artistic choices. Both are correct. Neither is a miniature of the other.

Moreover, the Battle Record Collection sits alongside figures like the Vista Battle Record Collection Figure from the same One Piece line, making it easy to build a cohesive crew display at a uniform scale. The DXF Extra, in contrast, stands as a centerpiece. It commands space rather than sharing it equally.
