Back in 2008, a teenager from Osaka co-founded a tiny visual design collective called VK Design Works with a friend. He earned his nickname from a local football jersey, sketched punk-band flyers for \u00a510,000, and handed out his first graphic tees as personal gifts. Nobody outside Osaka was watching. Today, that same person, known simply as Verdy, serves as Creative Partner of Human Made<\/a>, has designed stages for BLACKPINK’s world tours, and counts Tim Cook, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams among the regulars at his Tokyo office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verdy is a Japanese graphic artist, born in 1987 in Osaka, who founded the streetwear labels Wasted Youth (2016) and Girls Don’t Cry (2017), and created the characters Vick and Visty.<\/strong> His career moved from venue posters to gallery walls, and his collectibles now trade at multiples of their original retail prices across the global secondary market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Osaka Graphics to a Global Name: How Verdy Got Here<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Verdy was born in 1987 in Osaka Prefecture and first moved to Tokyo in 2012, where he worked as part of the illustrator and graphic design group VK Design Works.
