Kaiyodo Takara x Takashi Murakami Superflat Museum Figure

Manufactured by Kaiyodo Takara and published by Kaikai Kiki Co., Ltd., Tokyo, this boxed release contains one plastic shokugan figure conceived under Murakami’s artistic direction. The figure reflects the artist’s distinctive visual language, characterized by flat color planes, clean contours, and playful yet conceptually grounded forms.

The box remains in its original printed cardboard packaging, preserving the integrity of the original release. Its compact scale emphasizes its nature as a designed object rather than a toy, aligning with Murakami’s intent to position Superflat works within both art and commercial contexts.

The Kaiyodo Takara x Takashi Murakami box originates from an edition of 30,000, distributed in Japan as part of the Superflat Museum project. The packaging measures 102 × 51 mm (4 × 2 in).

An important example of Murakami’s early art-to-object practice, this Superflat Museum box holds significance for collectors of contemporary art editions, Japanese designer collectibles, and Murakami’s foundational Superflat works.
